Application

The courses and other activities offered by the Nordic Graduate School of Language Technology are open to graduate students of language technology (i.e. students who are currently working on research in language technology) who are registered in one of the countries participating in the school (Nordic and Baltic countries and NW Russia). You may apply to the School for funding to cover your travel and living expenses in connection with courses.

In order to be eligible to apply for funding, you must first register for status as a student in the school on the form for affiliation. Your application must be supported by your supervisor on the supervisor form. A supervisor is a person designated by your home department to be responsible for the supervision of your studies for the degree for which you are currently registered. We would like to encourage supervisors who support the application of NGSLT to become involved in NGSLT's activities and discussion (e.g. taking part in working groups on NGSLT's wiki, refereeing for the planned Nordic Journal of Language Technology).

When your student status application is admitted you are welcome to apply for participation in courses organized by the Nordic Graduate School of Language Technology. Current courses are announced under Activities and you register on the form for courses. You find all the necessary information about reimbursement here.

The Nordic Graduate School of Language Technology also gives support for other activities than courses, including but not limited to supervision meetings, student research meetings, presentations at conferences. As an NGSLT-student, you may apply for funding on the form for other activity.

The Nordic Graduate School of Language Technology also supports its students in contact with other researchers and research centres. As an NGSLT-student, you are welcome to apply for such kind of second supervision support or lab visits on the form for secondary supervision or lab visits programme.
